DANBURY — In a dramatic series of events, Danbury Police responded to a reported disturbance on Clapboard Ridge Road near Dogwood Lane at 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 25, where witnesses observed three males assaulting a man and forcing him into a van before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officials located the suspect vehicle shortly after on Cowperthwaite Street, finding two victims inside, bound with duct tape and one having been assaulted with a baseball bat.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

During the search for the suspects who had abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, four were swiftly apprehended by patrol officers, resulting in minor injuries to three officers involved.

The investigation led authorities to a Roxbury short-term rental home where the remaining two suspects were arrested.

All six suspects, who hail from Florida, face charges of 1st Degree Assault, 1st Degree Kidnapping, and Reckless Endangerment, with indications that the victims were specifically targeted.

However, the underlying motives are still unclear.

The Danbury Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident and urges anyone with information to contact the Danbury Police Detectives at 203-797-4662 or the anonymous Tips Line at 203-790-TIPS (8477).
