Boston police seek help to identify suspect in Holocaust Memorial vandalism

BOSTON — Boston Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual connected to a vandalism incident at the Holocaust Memorial.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, near 90 Union Street.

Members of the Civil Rights Unit are leading the investigation into the defacement of the memorial, a significant site of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust.

The Boston Police Department is thoroughly examining the facts and circumstances related to the act of vandalism.

Authorities are calling on anyone with information to contact the Civil Rights Unit Detectives at (617) 343-4527.

Those who wish to provide information while remaining anonymous have options.

The department assures that the identities of informants will be kept confidential as the investigation proceeds.
