Bethel man arrested on warrant after traffic stop

BETHEL — Vermont State Police troopers from the Royalton Barracks conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of VT Route 107 and Main Street on Aug. 26, leading to the arrest of a Bethel man on an active warrant.

At about 1:24 p.m., Rudi S. Mattson, 55, was pulled over for multiple motor vehicle violations.

An investigation revealed that Mattson was driving with a criminally suspended license.

Upon further checks, troopers discovered an active warrant for Mattson’s arrest.

Mattson was taken to the Royalton Barracks for processing and held on $100 bail.

He was subsequently transported to Southern State Correctional Facility.

Mattson is scheduled to appear at the Windsor County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 27 at 8 a.m.
