Wilton juvenile group arrested on serious crime charges

WILTON — Following a complaint received on Aug. 17, the Wilton Police Department has arrested five individuals, including four juveniles, for a series of serious crimes against a 13-year-old boy.

According to the police report, the incident occurred the previous night at a residence in the Wilton Mobile Home Park.

The victim, who was visiting the mobile home park, was allegedly assaulted with a weapon, threatened, held against his will inside a camper, and robbed of his property.

Investigators acting on information from the victim and witnesses executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered the stolen property.

Four juveniles from Wilton, ages 12, 14, 15, and a 16-year-old from Farmington, were apprehended and transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center.

Ty Looney, a 23-year-old from Farmington, was also taken into custody.

The suspects face charges including Robbery (Class A), Aggravated Assault (Class B), Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C), Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer (Class D), and Criminal Restraint (Class D).

Looney received an additional charge of Violation of Condition of Release (Class E) due to a prior deferred disposition for criminal conduct.

The investigation remains ongoing, with the Wilton Police Department urging anyone with information to come forward.

Previously, the apprehended juveniles have collectively faced various charges in Franklin County, including theft, burglary, assault, and more, though these are unrelated to the current incident.

Chief Ethan Kyes issued the report, emphasizing the department’s commitment to investigating and resolving the matter thoroughly.
