SHAFTSBURY — Vermont State Police are seeking public assistance in locating 73-year-old Harold Lavanway, who was reported missing by his family on the morning of Aug. 25.

Lavanway, a resident of Readsboro, was last seen around 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, according to a neighbor.

He was observed heading south toward the Monroe Bridge area in Massachusetts.

Lavanway is believed to be driving a gray 2011 Honda Civic with Vermont registration KCC693.

Efforts by the family and the Vermont State Police from the Shaftsbury Barracks to find Lavanway have thus far been unsuccessful.
