Rhode Island State Police nab four in overnight arrests

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks arrested four individuals on various charges late Saturday and early Sunday after separate motor vehicle stops in different cities.

At 5:08 p.m., Jayden Cortez, 24, of Coventry, was taken into custody for a Kent County Superior Court warrant related to a failure to appear for arraignment on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card from the Warwick Police Department.

Cortez’s arrest followed a traffic stop on Central Street in Central Falls.

He was processed at the barracks and then handed over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Later that night, at 10:32 p.m., Huliserh J. Martinez, 30, of Providence, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance identified as cocaine.

This arrest was also the result of a traffic stop, this time on Linwood Avenue in Providence.

Martinez was processed at the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, appeared before a Justice of the Peace, and was released with a summons to appear in Sixth Division District Court.

Early Sunday, at 12:23 a.m., Sandy J. Perez, 41, also of Providence, was arrested for possession of ecstasy after being stopped on Route 146 in North Providence.

Perez was held at the barracks overnight and is awaiting morning arraignment as a bail violator in Third Division District Court.

In the early hours of Sunday, at 3:46 a.m., Kevin R. Reyes Perez, 21, of Providence, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Providence Police Department for domestic disorderly conduct.

Following a traffic stop on Cranston Street in Providence, Reyes Perez was processed at the barracks before being turned over to Providence Police.
