New York man dies in early morning Berwick crash

BERWICK — A New York man was killed early Saturday morning when he was ejected from his vehicle during a crash on Portland Street near Old Route 4.

Mark Neary, 67, of New York, NY, lost control of his vehicle around 2:44 a.m., resulting in a single-vehicle accident.

The Berwick Police and Fire Departments, along with Stewarts Ambulance, responded to the scene.

Neary was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The North Berwick and South Berwick Police Departments provided assistance at the crash site.

The Kennebunk Police Department is currently reconstructing the crash with help from the Windham Police Department to determine the cause.
