Boylston home intruder caught in attic, faces breaking and entering charges

BOYLSTON — After an extensive search operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, a suspect was apprehended in the attic of a local residence Monday following a report of a breaking and entering in progress.

The Boylston Police Department received a 911 call around 1:20 p.m. from a homeowner who was not present at his house but observed an unauthorized male through a security camera system.

Officers and detectives were dispatched to the scene promptly and set up a perimeter to contain the situation.

The response was bolstered by the assistance of the West Boylston Police, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Marlborough PD K-9 unit, Westborough PD K-9 unit, a regional Animal Control Officer, and the Boylston Department of Public Works.

The suspect was ultimately located in the attic of the home and taken into custody without further incident.

Following the arrest, the individual was transported to the Boylston Police Department for booking.

Bail was set at $500.

The accused is scheduled for arraignment at Clinton District Court and will face charges, including breaking and entering under MGL C. 266 16A and trespassing under MGL C. 266 S. 120.
