ALBURGH — A Vermont Fish and Wildlife Game Warden’s attempt to stop an ATV and dirt bike for registration and highway use violations turned into a pursuit on Aug. 24, at approximately 2:45 p.m., leading to an ongoing search for one of the operators.
The incident began on VT Rt. 129 when the Warden tried to stop the two vehicles.
The operators sped away northbound on US Rt. 2 at high speed.
The ATV was later found on Rt 2, disabled due to mechanical issues.
When the Warden tried to arrest the ATV operator, the man resisted and escaped on foot.
State Police troopers and US Border Patrol agents joined the search for the suspect, described as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a bald head and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.
Authorities have not yet apprehended the individual and are asking anyone with information to contact Vermont Fish and Game Warden Matthew Thiel at (802) 524-5993.
