North Smithfield woman, Providence man arrested in separate incidents by state police

NORTH PROVIDENCE — At 2:33 p.m., Rhode Island State Troopers detained Jennifer Hedquist, 36, of North Smithfield, on a charge of Domestic Disorderly Conduct following a traffic stop on Mineral Spring Avenue.

The arrest warrant, issued by the Providence Police Department, resulted in Hedquist being processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

After processing, she was handed over to the Providence Police.

Later that same day, at 7:36 p.m., Troopers took Mitchel Rivera, 45, of Providence into custody on two counts: Domestic Violence – Simple Assault/Battery and Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct.

Rivera’s arrest occurred after authorities received multiple E911 calls concerning a domestic dispute in motion and executed a vehicle stop on Locust Street.

Rivera was brought to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.

He was released later in the evening.
