Masked robber strikes Portland gas station, police seek information

PORTLAND — A man wielding a baseball bat and wearing a white mask robbed the Riverton Gas Station at 1585 Forest Avenue on Saturday at 2:03 p.m., according to the Portland Police Department.

Authorities were promptly alerted to the incident, where the suspect had demanded money from the store clerk before fleeing toward Riverton School with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Despite efforts by a K9 unit to track the individual, the search was unsuccessful.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with yellow teeth and a brown goatee.

The Portland Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that may aid in the apprehension of the suspect or contribute to ongoing investigations.
