BARNET — A local man was arrested for allegedly violating a stalking protection order twice within a week, police reported.
Daniel Ehlers Sr., 61, of Barnet, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after his neighbor, Warren Dow, 38, also of Barnet, reported the violations.
According to the authorities, Dow called to report that Ehlers had violated an Order Against Stalking that had been issued against him on Aug. 21.
The incidents occurred on Aug. 23 and Aug. 25, prompting an investigation by law enforcement.
The investigation confirmed that Ehlers had indeed breached the terms of the order on both dates.
On Aug. 25 at around 7:16 a.m., officers apprehended Ehlers and processed him at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.
Following processing, Ehlers was issued a citation to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court.
He was subsequently released on conditions pending his court appearance.
