Two Lyndon men arrested on I-91 for DUI, excessive speeding, and outstanding warrant

BARNET — In a high-speed incident, Vermont State Troopers apprehended two men from Lyndon after clocking a vehicle traveling at 104 mph on Interstate 91 on Aug. 22 at 6:17 p.m.

The driver, Derek Dawson, 34, was pulled over and during the subsequent investigation, was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

His passenger, James Mitchell, 31, was discovered to have an active Cite and Release Warrant.

Mitchell was released at the scene with a citation to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division the following day at 12:30 p.m.

Dawson was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing.

Following his release on citation, Dawson is scheduled to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges related to driving under the influence and excessive speed.
