Man with 12 active warrants arrested in Montville

MONTVILLE — A man wanted on multiple warrants was apprehended by police Thursday morning after being spotted driving northbound on Route 32 near the Norwich town line.

Jake Pendergast, 33, initially gave officers a false identity during a traffic stop at about 8:55 a.m. Authorities were able to confirm Pendergast’s true identity and arrested him on the outstanding warrants without incident.

Pendergast, who had twelve active warrants for his arrest, now faces a series of charges, including four counts of first-degree failure to appear, seven counts of second-degree failure to appear, two counts of fourth-degree larceny, one count of fifth-degree larceny, criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

He was held on a total bond of $1 million and is scheduled for arraignment at the GA-21 Norwich Superior Court on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m.
