Granby man arrested for DUI, driving with suspended license and active warrant

ST. JOHNSBURY — A traffic stop late Thursday night led to the arrest of Owen Ainsworth, 22, of Granby, on charges including driving under the influence and driving with a criminally suspended license.

Vermont State Police conducted the stop on Memorial Drive at approximately 10:44 p.m. after observing multiple vehicle violations.

During the investigation, troopers determined Ainsworth was operating the vehicle while impaired and with a suspended license.

It was also discovered that Ainsworth had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Ainsworth was taken into custody without incident and transported to the state police barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing.

He was held on $1,000 bail and later moved to the Northeast Correctional Complex.

Ainsworth is scheduled to appear at the Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. to face his charges.
