WEBSTER — A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife at the North Village apartment complex.

Webster Police Officers responded to a call at about 12:48 p.m. from a woman claiming she had fled her apartment and was hiding behind a dumpster after a man, later identified as Moses Early, 28, of Simpsonville, S.C., threatened her with a knife inside the apartment.

Officers, including those working an off-duty detail nearby, arrived at the scene to speak with the victim.

They entered the apartment and detained Early.

An investigation revealed that two days earlier, Early had brandished a large knife, held it to the victim’s stomach, and demanded she return to her apartment with him while at a friend’s place on Negus Street.

The victim managed to escape after a friend intervened.

Early was found to have the large kitchen knife in his pocket when he was arrested.

He faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and assault.

Early was arraigned at Dudley District Court on Wednesday.

The officers involved in the case were Chief Shaw, Sergeant Reed, Officer Moran, Officer Rockwood, Officer Melhouse, Officer Trainor, and Officer Cedeno.
