MORGAN — A routine traffic stop on Interstate 91 this morning led to the arrest of three individuals on cocaine trafficking charges, Vermont State Police reported.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., troopers observed a northbound vehicle committing several traffic violations in Barnet, including marked lane violations and failure to use directional signals while changing lanes. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers noticed signs of illegal drug use and obtained consent to search the car.
The search uncovered approximately 388 grams of crack cocaine, resulting in the arrest of all three occupants. Daniel Allen, 45, of Morgan, was identified as the driver. His passengers were Aubrey Bolduc, 35, of Irasburg, and Ricky Hernandez Jr., 19, of Springfield, Massachusetts.
All three individuals were cited to appear on Nov. 18 in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury to face charges of cocaine trafficking.
The Newport Police Department K-9 Unit provided assistance during the incident.
This arrest comes amid increased vigilance on Vermont’s highways, as law enforcement continues to address the flow of illegal drugs into the state.
