BOSTON — The Boston Police Department has updated its most wanted list and is seeking assistance from the public in locating several individuals.
As of Aug. 22, the department is encouraging anyone with information about the whereabouts of these individuals to contact CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or to text the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
The department emphasizes that tips can be given anonymously, as they are interested solely in the information provided, not the identity of the informant.
To further facilitate the process, photos and videos of possible suspects can be submitted through an app, the link to which has been provided by the police department.
It is important to note that calls or texts to CrimeStoppers are handled by police officers and trained personnel who ensure that the information is forwarded to the appropriate investigators without compromising the anonymity of the tipster.
The Boston Police Department reassures the public that they do not have to reveal their identity when providing information about a crime.
The police also remind the public that the status of individuals on the most wanted list might change, as some may have already been apprehended.
They advise verifying any outstanding warrants before any police action is taken.
This advisory is to ensure the accuracy and safety of both the public and law enforcement personnel.
