On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Sanders was initially arrested for allegedly breaking into several vehicles along Main Street in Hyannis.

The incidents occurred late Monday into early Tuesday.

He was released on personal recognizance and scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday morning but failed to appear in court.

The following day, Wednesday, Aug. 21, at around 10:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of two robberies near Beares’s Way and Route 28.

Witnesses and surveillance footage led to the identification of Sanders as the suspect.

Officers apprehended Sanders as he attempted to escape on foot in a nearby street.

Sanders has been ordered held on $5,000 cash bail and is expected to be arraigned at Barnstable District Court on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the vehicle break-ins on Main Street Hyannis.

Victims who parked in the area Monday night to Tuesday morning and discovered items missing from their vehicles are urged to contact Detective Christopher Botsford at 774-339-0764.
