PANTON — A Northfield man was charged with driving under the influence early Thursday morning following a single-vehicle accident in Panton.
Vermont State Police, along with the Vergennes Fire Department, responded to the crash on Basin Harbor Rd. near Kellogg Bay Rd. around 3:32 a.m.
Authorities found a vehicle that had left the roadway on a straight section between Button Bay Rd. and Kellogg Bay Rd.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Vincent Delacruz Rodriguez of Northfield, was unharmed in the incident.
An investigation at the scene led to Rodriguez’s arrest after he was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Rodriguez was taken into custody without further incident and processed at the VSP New Haven Barracks.
He has been issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Addison County to face DUI charges.
