ASHBURNHAM — Authorities are investigating a string of package thefts reported in the area yesterday, with the Ashburnham Police Department releasing details of one incident that occurred on Lake Road around 1 p.m.
According to the police, a male suspect was observed being picked up by a silver or grey SUV, similar to a Honda CRV, shortly after a package was dropped off at a residence.
The department believes that the individuals involved may be following delivery drivers through neighborhoods and stealing parcels soon after they are left on porches.
Residents who were in the vicinity of Lake Road yesterday afternoon and have security camera footage or any information about the incident or the suspects are urged to contact Detective Holgerson at the Ashburnham Police Department.
The department also asks the community to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity, especially if it involves individuals trailing delivery vehicles.
