Williamstown woman charged with assault on officers, disorderly conduct

WILLIAMSTOWN — A local woman faced charges Monday night after allegedly assaulting two Vermont State Police troopers and causing a disturbance at a convenience store.

Lillie Jones, 25, of Williamstown, was taken into custody around 7:09 p.m. following reports of disorderly conduct at the Pump and Pantry on Business Center Road.

According to authorities, troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene where they encountered a group of individuals shouting and using profane language.

Despite being ordered to disperse, the crowd reportedly became combative.

During the confrontation, Jones is accused of kicking two troopers.

She was subsequently arrested without further incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

After processing, Jones received a flash citation to appear in court on charges of disorderly conduct and assault on law enforcement officers.

She was released as per the court’s instructions.

The victims, residents of Waterbury, were troopers assigned to the Berlin Barracks.

They did not report any serious injuries from the altercation.
