CONCORD — A Lawrence man pleaded guilty today in federal court to a conspiracy charge involving the trafficking of approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine into New Hampshire, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announced.

Ronny O. Ramos, 32, entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, methamphetamine, before U.S. District Court Judge Samantha D. Elliot.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 25.

The court also set a trial date for Sept. 17 for co-defendant Riley P. Thibodeau.

Court documents and statements made in court reveal that from March through October, Ramos was involved in five methamphetamine transactions from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.

He received the drug orders from Thibodeau, handled through an intermediary.

Each order ranged from 10 to 12 pounds, with a price tag of around $20,000 per batch.

The deliveries were made to Thibodeau in New Hampshire.

Ramos’s arrest occurred on Oct. 31 in Methuen, Massachusetts, where law enforcement agents seized 10 pounds of methamphetamine intended for New Hampshire.

The law under which Ramos was charged carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a minimum of 3 years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.

Sentencing will be determined by the federal district court judge based on the U.S.
