DIXFIELD — A burglary at a local convenience store early Sunday morning ended with two arrests and a taser deployment, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Ellis Variety at 126 Weld Street around 4 a.m. after the store’s front door window was found shattered.

Although no suspects were located inside the store, surveillance footage helped identify 31-year-old Charles Gannon Jr. as the individual who smashed the window.

Later that morning, at around 11 a.m., deputies located Gannon on Hathaway Road.

During the investigation, Gannon and an adult female, later identified as 41-year-old Misty Glover, grew hostile.

Their behavior prompted support from Rumford and Mexico police officers.

Gannon resisted arrest, leading to a physical altercation with officers and the deployment of a taser to subdue him.

Glover was arrested for interfering with the arrest.

Both individuals, believed to be transients, were taken to Rumford Community Hospital for medical evaluation before being booked at the Oxford County Jail.

Gannon is facing charges of Aggravated Criminal Mischief and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention.

Glover has been charged with Obstructing Government Administration and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone with relevant information to come forward by contacting (207) 743-9554.
