Two-vehicle crash on US-7 in Salisbury

1 min read

SALISBURY — Troopers were dispatched to a collision involving two vehicles on US Route 7, near the intersection with VT Route 53, at 12:46 p.m. on Aug. 18.

The incident occurred when Tunazzena Alam, 35, of Vergennes, driving a 2022 Subaru Outback, entered the breakdown lane to execute a U-turn.

Regent Seguin, 91, of New Haven, behind the wheel of a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, attempted to pass the Subaru at that moment.

Alam’s vehicle then initiated the U-turn, leading to the Subaru’s front end colliding with the passenger side of the Crown Victoria.

Both vehicles were able to come to a controlled stop after the impact.

Despite the damage sustained — front-end contact damage to the Subaru and passenger’s-side contact damage to the Ford — neither driver was injured in the crash.

Authorities confirmed that both Alam and Seguin were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

The Middlebury Police Department provided assistance at the scene.

No hospitalization was required for either party involved.
