Man arrested for DUI after crashing into rock, mailboxes in Pittsford

PITTSFORD — Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a single-vehicle accident on Elm Street late Sunday evening.

Authorities reported that at approximately 6:42 p.m., Robert Kulig, 36, of Pittsford, was driving northbound when his vehicle veered off the east side of the road, colliding with a large rock and two mailboxes.

Kulig’s vehicle continued northward, eventually leaving the roadway a second time and coming to an uncontrolled stop in the bushes, 75 feet from the pavement.

Upon contact with Kulig, state troopers observed several signs of impairment.

He was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Kulig was processed at the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland and released with a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court on charges related to the incident.
