Man arrested for domestic assault and cruelty to a child in St. George

ST. GEORGE — Vermont State Police arrested a 35-year-old Colchester man on charges of aggravated domestic assault and cruelty to a child after an incident on Hemlock Road.

Troopers responded to a report at 5:46 p.m. on Aug. 18 of a severe injury inflicted upon a juvenile family member.

The accused, Christopher Clark, was not at the scene when authorities arrived.

The investigation revealed Clark had restricted the child’s airway, impairing their ability to breathe.

Police later located Clark at a residence in Colchester, where he was apprehended without incident.

Clark was processed at the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks and subsequently transported to the Northwest Correctional Facility.

He is being held on a $2,000 bail.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim, adhering to policies protecting the identities of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
