Bennington man arrested for unlawful trespass, stalking in Shaftsbury

SHAFTSBURY — Vermont State Police arrested a 25-year-old Bennington man for unlawful trespass and stalking after he allegedly entered a Shaftsbury residence uninvited and waited for the victim on Aug. 18.

Authorities responded to the incident on Route 7A at 10:10 p.m. upon receiving a report of an unwanted male in the home.

The investigation found that Tyler Toromino had waited for the 26-year-old victim to return before illegally entering the premises.

State Police apprehended Toromino shortly after he entered the residence.

He was taken to the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks for processing.

Following the processing, Toromino was issued conditions of release but was then emergency arrested by the Vermont Department of Corrections for a probation violation.

Toromino was subsequently transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility by probation officers.

The identity of the victim, a Shaftsbury resident, has not been released by authorities in adherence to privacy policies regarding victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
