AUBURN — After a long-term investigation into alleged drug trafficking, Auburn Police have arrested 38-year-old Ryan Jolicoeur on charges including robbery, theft, assault, and aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs.

The investigation centered on activity at Jolicoeur’s residence at 92 Fifth Street, where he was suspected of selling large quantities of marijuana to local juveniles.

On Aug. 18, a 15-year-old boy reported being threatened, robbed, and assaulted by Jolicoeur in New Auburn, an incident that allegedly arose from a previous drug transaction.

Officers from the Proactive Community Enforcement (PACE) Unit executed a search warrant at the Fifth Street address, where they seized over 20 pounds of marijuana and related products, scales, and around $1,600 in cash believed to be drug proceeds.

Additionally, several vehicles owned by Jolicoeur were seized in connection with the ongoing probe.

The residence, directly opposite a park designated as a safe zone by the city council, prompted additional charges due to the substantial amount of drugs found and the close proximity to the safe area.

Jolicoeur was booked into Androscoggin County Jail with bail set at $10,000, which he subsequently posted.

He has been released pending further legal proceedings.
