WEST HAVEN — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Friday night after several gunshots were reported at a New Street residence.
At approximately 11 p.m., West Haven Police officers responded to the scene where they found multiple spent shell casings outside the home.
A resident was present during the incident but was not harmed.
Detectives from the West Haven Police Detective Division have taken over the investigation.
Authorities currently believe the shooting was targeted, though no suspects have been identified at this time.
The police department is appealing to the public for any information related to the shooting.
