BEDFORD — A New Hampshire State Police saturation patrol on Friday night resulted in four arrests for various offenses including driving while intoxicated and drug possession.
The operation, which took place on Aug. 16, was part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, a collaboration with the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety aimed at reducing impaired and aggressive driving.
During the patrol, State Troopers from Troop B barracks stopped 101 vehicles in their efforts to increase roadway safety.
Arrests included two individuals for DWI offenses and two for driving with suspended licenses in addition to drug possession.
The individuals taken into custody were:
– Charles Sibanda, 26, of Salem, charged with DWI and having an open container in the vehicle;
– Nyaja Gilchrist, 20, of Peterborough, facing charges for operating after suspension, speeding, and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle;
– Mario Colecchia, 33, of Manchester, arrested for DWI and open container; and
– Marissa Anderson, 38, of Boston, MA, charged with operating after suspension and transporting drugs in a vehicle.
State Police reported no impaired driver-related crashes occurred during the initiative.
The New Hampshire State Police will continue to conduct similar enforcement operations to promote road safety across the state.
