NEWFANE — A collision involving two trucks on VT-30 near house number 662 resulted in both vehicles being totaled but no injuries on Aug. 16.

Vermont State Police from the Westminster Barracks were called to the scene at about 1:41 p.m. after reports of the accident.

According to their investigation, Jacob M. Matyas, 24, from West Townshend, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet truck when he crossed into the opposing lane and collided with a 2021 Ford truck driven by Thomas A. Bloom, 55, from Brookline.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and neither required hospitalization.

The clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the incident did not prevent the accident from causing travel delays.

The road was temporarily closed for vehicle recovery operations.

Newbrook Fire and Rescue also responded to the incident, which is still under investigation by the authorities.
