HUDSON — Hudson Police Chief Richard P. DiPersio announced the arrest of three juveniles following a smash and grab incident at a local smoke shop early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the DAB Smoke Shop on 234 Washington St. at 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
They discovered the storefront’s entrance had been smashed, presumably by a vehicle backing into it.
The suspects had left the scene, prompting Hudson Police to alert nearby departments to be on the lookout for a vehicle with rear-end damage.
Shortly after, a Marlborough Police officer, assisted by a Massachusetts State Trooper, stopped a vehicle matching the description.
The occupants, three male juveniles aged 15, 16, and 17 from Boston, Quincy, and Danvers respectively, were arrested following the traffic stop.
Police reported finding stolen merchandise from the DAB Smoke Shop inside the vehicle.
The vehicle was impounded, and two of the juveniles are being held on bail, while the third was released to their legal guardians.
The suspects are scheduled for arraignment at Framingham Juvenile Court.
Chief DiPersio praised the collaborative efforts of the involved agencies, emphasizing the strong message against local business break-ins and burglaries.
The charges remain allegations, and the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
