MILFORD — A Milford police K-9 and his handler played a crucial role in apprehending a suspect who fled from a traffic stop and caused a vehicle crash in Bellingham on Friday.
At approximately 4:55 p.m., K-9 Kodak and Officer Patrick Motuzas responded to assist the Bellingham Police Department after a male suspect on a Honda CBR motorcycle evaded officers during a motor vehicle stop.
The suspect subsequently crashed into two vehicles and then fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Upon arrival, K-9 Kodak swiftly detected a human scent, leading Officer Motuzas on a pursuit through multiple yards and the woods.
The chase ended when the suspect was found hiding in a shed.
The Bellingham Police took the suspect into custody and transported him to their department headquarters for further processing.
