Suspected road rage incident on Main Street leads to hospitalization

ORLEANS, MA — A suspected road rage confrontation on Main Street resulted in a traffic collision that sent one person to the hospital today, according to the Orleans Police Department.

The incident, which took place around 11:30 a.m. near the Santander Bank at 51 Main Street, involved a 2017 Subaru Impreza and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.

Officers and emergency medical services were quickly dispatched to the scene where they attended to a 53-year-old male victim.

He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment, and his current condition has not been disclosed.

The driver of the Subaru, a 43-year-old male, cooperated with authorities at the scene.

Despite the accident, Main Street businesses remained open, with no significant disruptions reported.

Authorities believe that the collision stemmed from a “road rage” situation.

The Orleans Police Department is actively investigating the matter and is seeking additional information from witnesses.
