Falmouth woman charged with DUI after hitting officer with car

BARNSTABLE — A Falmouth woman was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and striking a police officer with her vehicle late Wednesday night, the Barnstable Police Department reported.

Lisa Limberakis, 45, faces charges of operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

She is scheduled for arraignment today in Barnstable District Court.

The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 14, as officers were managing traffic outside the Cape Cod Melody Tent following a concert.

A car reportedly hit a police officer’s knee and flashlight.

The officer was able to continue working and declined medical attention.

Limberakis was stopped by police shortly after the incident.

The arresting officer noted a smell of alcohol on her breath, as well as red and glossy eyes, and slurred speech.

After further investigation, Limberakis was taken into custody.
