BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested a Newton man on firearm-related charges following a traffic stop in Roxbury late Thursday night.

At about 10:10 p.m., officers assigned to District B-2 observed a vehicle operating recklessly near Quincy Street and Blue Hill Avenue.

Police recovered a Mossberg MC1-SC handgun with a round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.

The firearm’s serial number had been removed.

Johnson faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number.
