EAST PROVIDENCE — An alert patrol officer’s investigative work last evening led to the arrest of a man wanted on multiple charges in North Carolina, authorities said.
London Clyde, 45, of Providence, was taken into custody at the Rumford Motor Inn on Newport Avenue.
The East Providence Police Department stated that Clyde was wanted for several extraditable arrest warrants, including aggravated assault with a firearm and felony delivery/selling of Schedule II narcotics.
The arrest was made without incident, and Clyde now faces two counts of Fugitive From Justice from North Carolina.
The successful apprehension highlighted the diligent efforts of the local law enforcement in ensuring that individuals wanted for serious crimes are held accountable, regardless of state lines.
