BRADFORD — A local woman was arrested on charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and cruelty to a child after an incident at the Bradford Motel last week that critically injured her 11-month-old son.

Taylor Grenier, 29, of Bradford, is set to be arraigned on Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury.

The Vermont State Police launched an investigation early Thursday, Aug. 8, after being alerted by the Bradford Police Department.

Emergency medical services personnel had reported to the motel for a severely injured infant.

Detectives from the VSP’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations later determined the child’s injuries were the result of abusive trauma that was not accidental.

The baby is currently in critical condition at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, Grenier was taken into custody on Tuesday, Aug. 13, and is being held without bail until her court appearance.

The exact time for the hearing had not been determined as of Tuesday evening.
