BERLIN — A single-vehicle crash involving a Ford F-250 towing a travel trailer resulted in the closure of Interstate 89 north at mile marker 48.2 Monday afternoon.

Vermont State Police, along with the Berlin Fire Department, Barre Town Ambulance, and VTrans, responded to the incident at approximately 4:35 p.m.

The driver, Donovan McDunnah, 25, of Barre, was reportedly traveling below the speed limit when he lost control of his vehicle due to improper weight distribution of the 24-foot trailer he was towing.

The trailer began to sway wildly and eventually overturned, blocking both northbound lanes of Interstate 89.

McDunnah, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, did not sustain any injuries.

The vehicle sustained damage to the driver’s side and rear end.

Authorities closed the northbound section of the interstate to conduct an investigation and clear the wreckage.

The road has since been reopened to traffic.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no charges have been reported at this time.
