New Haven trailer fire sends one to hospital

NEW HAVEN — One person was transported to the hospital late Tuesday night after a fire broke out in a trailer home, officials said.

The New Haven Fire Department responded to a call at 8:36 p.m. reporting a fire in the 360 block of Washington Ave.

The blaze involved two camping trailers located in the rear lot behind a structure, according to authorities.

Police quickly blocked traffic at the intersection of Columbus Ave and Lines St as firefighters arrived on the scene.

By 11:44 p.m., the NHFD reported that they had knocked down a small fire in one of the trailers and removed one occupant.

Further updates revealed that the correct address of the fire was in the 10 block of Lines St.

The occupant, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the hospital by AMR for treatment.

The extent of their injuries and the cause of the fire are currently under investigation.
