Montville man arrested on drug, weapons charges after K-9 unit alerts to narcotics

MONTVILLE — A Montville man was arrested on multiple charges after a police K-9 detected narcotics during a vehicle search, leading to the discovery of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and a large sum of money.

William Dickerson, 67, was taken into custody around 2:37 p.m. on Aug. 13 after officers from the Montville Police Department witnessed him partaking in a suspected drug transaction at a local 7-Eleven in the Uncasville area.

K-9 Gage was deployed and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in Dickerson’s vehicle.

A search conducted by the authorities uncovered approximately 31 grams of crack cocaine, along with items used for drug consumption and distribution, ammunition, and a significant amount of U.S. currency.

Following his arrest, Dickerson was released on a $25,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear at the GA-21 Norwich Superior Court on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m.

Dickerson faces charges including possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of a controlled substance for the first time, use of drug paraphernalia, and having a weapon in a motor vehicle.
