Lexington police investigate child’s death in hot car

LEXINGTON — A 1-year-old child was pronounced dead at a local hospital after Lexington Police responded to a report of an unresponsive infant in a vehicle on Tuesday.

Authorities received a call around 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 and arrived at a parking lot on Massachusetts Avenue, where they discovered the child.

The infant was immediately transported to an area hospital but could not be revived.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the death.

Further inquiries have been directed to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, as the investigation is ongoing.
