ORRINGTON — Two traffic stops within two days led to the arrest of several individuals on drug and firearm charges, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On Aug. 10, at about 8:35 p.m., a Deputy Sheriff stopped Michael Clinch, 38, from Carmel, during which signs of illegal drug activity were observed.
A K9 unit from the Bucksport Police Department was brought in and signaled the presence of drugs in Clinch’s vehicle.
A search unveiled various illegal substances, including over 6 grams of Fentanyl and quantities of Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, and Methylphenidate pills.
Clinch faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs, with one being a Class A Felony and others ranging from Class C to D.
The following evening, on Aug. 11, at around 8:20 p.m., another Deputy Sheriff stopped a vehicle on River Road.
With the assistance of a K9 unit, the Deputy discovered a large cache of drugs and a loaded .38 Special handgun on the person of Randy Webber, 51, of Stonnington.
Webber was charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs.
Also implicated in the bust were Staphne Webber, 35, of Ellsworth, charged with Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs and Failure to Register a Vehicle, and Garrett Collins of Bucksport, facing similar drug trafficking charges and additional probation violations.
The Bucksport Police Department played a significant role in supporting the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office during these investigations.
