WESTFIELD — Butterworks Farm, a pioneering grass-fed organic dairy operation in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, has been acquired by Anthony Calderaro, Ania Kuniej, and Joseph Calderaro, the farm recently announced.

The transition marks a new chapter for the farm, founded in 1976 by Jack and Anne Lazor. Known for its 100 percent grass-fed organic dairy products made from Jersey cow milk, Butterworks Farm has built a loyal customer base over nearly five decades.

“We are very excited to become the new owners of this grass-fed organic dairy farm and to continue the cherished tradition started by Jack and Anne Lazor,” the new owners said in a statement. “We share their passion and vision for people, animals, and nature living in balance.”

The farm, which produced Vermont’s first organic yogurt, has grown to include 76 Jersey cows and 400 acres of pastures and hayfields. All cows are born and raised on the farm, ensuring herd health and milk quality.

The Calderaro family plans to preserve the farm’s legacy while expanding its reach to offer grass-fed organic products to more customers across existing and new markets.

Butterworks Farm, located in Westfield, operates an on-farm creamery year-round, maintaining its commitment to sustainability and quality that has defined the operation since its inception.
