TRUMBULL — After being confronted by an apparent robber Thursday night, a local homeowner defended their property with an unconventional weapon — a paintball gun.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 8, Trumbull police responded to a call from a Knecht Farm Road resident.

The homeowner reported an unknown individual who walked up their driveway and demanded their possessions while gesturing threateningly.

In a bold move, the resident retrieved a paintball gun from inside the home and fired upon the would-be robber.

During the altercation, a second suspect was spotted nearby.

Both individuals quickly retreated to a white four-door sedan and escaped the scene.

Authorities confirmed that no weapons were seen, no property was taken, and there were no physical injuries sustained during the incident.

Police are treating this as an isolated event.

The Trumbull Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in gathering more information.

Witnesses or those with relevant knowledge are encouraged to contact the department at (203) 261-3665.
