BOSTON — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent armed robbery in Brighton, according to the Boston Police Department.
At about 9:30 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 9, members of the Fugitive Unit apprehended Brandon McCallop, 35, of Mattapan, near 733 Centre Street.
McCallop was wanted on a warrant out of Brighton District Court on multiple charges, including Armed Robbery While Masked, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Without License 3rd Offense, Armed Assault To Rob (Firearm), and several other offenses.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m., on Tuesday, July 23, when officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to a report of an armed robbery at 140 North Beacon Street.
The suspect reportedly entered the store, brandished a firearm at the victim, and demanded the second victim to empty the cash register.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
McCallop is expected to face arraignment in West Roxbury District Court.
The Boston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the July armed robbery.
