Rhode Island arrests lead to multiple charges

LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police made several arrests on Aug. 9, resulting in charges ranging from driving under the influence to possession of controlled substances.

At 10:30 a.m., troopers arrested Shakwon Lewis, 27, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, on an arrest warrant for duty to stop for an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle.

Lewis turned himself in at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Minutes later, at 10:33 a.m., Antonio Rodriguez, 53, of Providence, was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 10 in Providence.

Rodriguez faced a bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

At 11:22 a.m., Efrain Lopez Lazaro, 42, of Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Silver Spring Street in Providence.

Lazaro’s blood alcohol content measured 0.150% and 0.160% in two separate tests.

Later that day, at 10:30 p.m., troopers arrested Adam H.

Landes, 44, of East Greenwich, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance.

All suspects were processed and arraigned according to standard procedures.
