ROCHESTER — An 81-year-old Rochester man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a Strafford man last month, authorities said.
Paul Clement turned himself in after the Rochester Police Department issued an arrest warrant.
Clement is charged with felony conduct after an accident resulting in injury or death.
He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Strafford County Superior Court on Sept. 2 at 8:30 a.m.
On July 8, around 5:22 p.m., Rochester Police, Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to Crown Point Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The victim, identified as 57-year-old John Pogorek of Strafford, had been hit while attending to his truck and trailer on the side of the road.
Pogorek was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a tip, police located Clement and the vehicle believed to be involved; the vehicle was impounded.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
Authorities are seeking further information regarding the incident.
