Rhode Island State Police make multiple arrests for fraud, driving offenses

EAST GREENWICH — Rhode Island State Police conducted a series of arrests on Aug. 8, taking into custody individuals on charges ranging from driving with a suspended license to credit card fraud.

At 11:45 a.m., troopers arrested Michael S. Adams, 47, of Coventry, during a traffic stop on Route 95.

Adams was wanted on a Fourth Division District Court bench warrant for failing to appear for arraignment on an original charge of driving with a suspended license.

He also faced a new charge of driving with a suspended/revoked/cancelled license for the fourth or subsequent offense.

Following the stop, Adams was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing and later taken to Fourth District Court.

Later that afternoon, at 3:30 p.m., Adam J. Peiczarka, 48, also of Coventry, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant for obtaining property by false pretenses/personation, obtaining a credit card through fraudulent means, conspiracy, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The arrest resulted from an investigation that led to Peiczarka being located at a residence in Exeter.

He was brought to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date.

Finally, at 4 p.m., Brenda A. DeAngelis, 45, of West Warwick, turned herself in at the State Police Hope Valley Barracks on similar charges of false pretenses/personation, credit card fraud, conspiracy, and fraudulent credit card use.

Following her surrender, DeAngelis was processed, arraigned and released with a date to appear in Fourth Division District Court.
